We’re happy to use digital x-rays in the practice for every patient that we see. We’re often shocked at how many patients come to us having been under previous medical or chiropractic care and have never had an x-ray taken, but have been “diagnosed” with a certain condition. Often times, when we take x-rays for these patients, we find an entirely different problem—x-rays can highlight ligament damage, arthritis, vertebrae misalignment and more.
Benefits of Digital X-rays
Digital x-rays have incredible benefits when compared to traditional x-rays.
For one, a digital x-ray offers up to 90% less exposure to radiation than a traditional x-ray. Digital x-rays allow for Dr. Schmidt to place computer aided measurements called annotations which will greatly assist his patients to clearly see and learn about their own skeletal structural alignment. Digital x-rays also help Dr. Schmidt’s patients learn what category they are in on the disease timeline. i.e. normal, mild, moderate or severe. Knowing which category of disease a patient is in greatly helps them to be fully informed when choosing the right amount of care.
The decision for care is always recommended by Dr. Schmidt but his patients make the final decision. Digital x-rays are also better for the environment as they require less exposure, and can be easily viewed on a computer or smart-device. Our patients also like that we can send them a digital copy after their report of findings.
During the course of your care, we may take additional x-rays to see how you’re responding to your therapy and what’s helping. Then, we can compare your initial x-rays to your new x-rays and see the difference that chiropractic care is having on your body.
